Illustration by David Camp We tend to think that our Pain is our own. It is, and it isn't. So much of our personal experience of Pain is a Meme. A Meme is a memory that is passed down from generation to generation... Unto the 7th generation as the Bible would tell us. A Meme is a hand-me-down doctrine of belief or attitude from a parent, a familial setting, a cultural setting, or even a racial construct. There IS personal Pain, there are things that happen to us that cause specific and direct pain, both physical; and emotional. But much is also a "hand me down". The Harmonic CD can help with pain conditions as a general rule. One aspect is that the uplifting melodies distract our attention away from our concerns, and we allow ourselves to forget for a time the pain we feel. This "distraction" can also show the subconscious mind that the pain we feel is not necessarily our own, but an "add on" from a parent, or social condition. The Harmonic CD seems to help people separate the personal "self" from the social experience. When we can learn to separate inwardly the personal from the "everything else" we start to develop an impersonal approach to dealing with Pain... As a result of this, much of the pain diminishes and becomes manageable. The Harmonic CD can help you to see the "memory" or the "Meme" acting in your life. While this is not a solution in itself, it is a necessary part of the process that finds a solution. Unless it is an overt sports injury or the like, it is a necessary to understand what is causing us our pain from the inside. Unless we come to understand what holds pain to us, then we can never resolve it. The Buddha said "Desire is Pain" ... But we see it differently. At Number Harmonics we say that desire arises often as a need to find a solution for the particular "Meme" that causes us pain. The Pain causes the desire, in this instance. The pleasure principle kicks in BECAUSE there is a Pain Threshold that has been breached... And what is more, this is perfectly normal. Desire is GOOD if it helps us resolve our pain. In proper perspective, desire is what motivates us to move forward. Once we are moving, it is really just a question of WHAT we desire that produces the beneficial or negative results. I will tell you a little secret, however. This is so simple, most people miss it completely... The Desire for Truth and Love in the heart overrides all pain. When we are immersed in a sense of Love, we feel no pain. Paradoxically, when we are immersed in a sense of fear, we often feel no pain as well ... In fact, when we are immersed in ANYTHING the pain is secondary. So let's all become junkies!! <G> Seriously... It is the attitude of action, direction and purpose that polarises our awareness to a different and broader state than our small, personal world. As I say, any immersion in anything helps us deal with pain... But a genuine degree of Love harmonises the pain, and gets off off the wheel of becoming. What we focus on is what we receive. Here is the cornerstone of our real concern... If we focus on nothing more than our own world, what we receive is the background energetic principles of our environment. Generally, the background energy of Earth and most social and family situations is quite negative. And so our experience in the personal world becomes a mirror of our external world... And this is generally a painful experience. It's OK... This provides us the reason to grow out of the personal, small world of self interest to a greater world of compassion, observance and respect. This is Planet Earth, this is a war zone... There is a lot of pain and suffering here. If we do nothing but serve ourselves, we will take on board a background of the pain around us. If we can be, as Gordon Gecko suggests, TRULY GREEDY we can override the incoming waves and through PURE self interest establish a world of our own that is separate from the external effect... Greed IS good if you want to be cut off from life. If you want to be connected to life, take a different path... Focus on something greater than your personal world. Develop a sense of LOVE, a sense of HEART, and see what new doors open for you. Focus on a true goal forms a path through the Energy of Confusion that generally reigns in most people's minds and hearts. The confusions snaps our attention to the negatives, and we get drawn into them. EG: When I first got a motor bike, I had a fear of things going wrong. Because I didn't want to fall over in corners, I would look at potholes in the road, and naturally try to avoid them. The net result was that I always hit the potholes! Then I learned the secret art of looking at where I wanted to go, rather than looking at what I wanted to avoid. Suddenly, I never hit a pot hole. I found I could also ride the motorbike much better because I was not constantly being put off balance by the shocks and jolts of life's path. (The joy of allegory crossed with metaphor!) This is how the Personalized Harmonic CD works... We help to get you focussed on the initial agreement you had as Soul ... This is the agreement YOU made before you came to Planet Earth. Despite what you may think of life as being your enemy the fact is that the BASIC AGREEMENT we have in our "Soul Contract" is one of resolution of karma. WE ALL GENERALLY HAVE AN INNER AGREEMENT TO FIND A PATH THROUGH THE POTHOLES OF OUR EXISTENCE. This is our "Harmonic Bridge" if you will. We Mimick the tonal patterns of this harmonic bridge and this appears to lead you to the place where you start to look at where you want to go, and quite naturally, you also start to miss the potholes. This of itself leads to greater spiritual awakening. Space forbids us the 500 page book that is needed to really describe this area of consciousness, but suffice to say, when you start to get the feel of your own destiny, your own chosen path, so much of your pain will go to the background. When we start remembering and living our purpose, the pain begins to go away. It's that simple. Obviously, if we have been blessed with the Love of family and friends we have a start in the right direction. Pain can occur as a direct result of having to do everything on your own, however, and often close bonds and helpful friends are not always the case. Pain is a symptom of change, and if you suffer a deep loneliness, the pain may be from your isolation. It is now ready to change into a deeper connection with life. Love is the oil on the stormy seas of change, and so we need to nurture and be kind to ourselves at all times, and most especially in times of change. Chronic, long term pain is often a result of some deep sense of abrasion with life. When we come into accord with our own life energies, we often find a solution to the pain. WHAT HAPPENS WITH A HARMONIC CD? Many times we will experience an 'opening' of some sort. Tibetans call it "Mudra" and Oprah calls it the "Ah HA" moment. This opening can come through a past life experience that shows us where we selected a particular pattern for this lifetime, or it may come as a dramatic out of the body experience. It may come like a cat on silent feet, and we just "know". Whatever it may be for you ... Sometimes something just goes "click" and a difficult problem just disconnects from our reality. (See: MUDRA (unlocking) ) We cannot say what will happen for you, but we CAN say that even the most Chronic Pain has a solution. But a small warning before you start this journey... When I worked as a body work therapist, I always heard how people would say as I worked on them "I never realized I had a pain in that area" ... This is because we cover up our pain. We hide it under the conscious memory, but it is still there. So too, with a Harmonic CD you will find on occasions that pain and odd sensations can emerge. Don't worry, relax and let it be. This is just your body telling you that an area is being addressed. As you go further, the energy will release, and you will feel a series of "unlockings" Often this happens in subtle ways, but in whatever way it occurs, it will be in complete accordance with what you will allow at deep, inner levels. The CD can help this "allow" area in particular. In the end, it is YOU who does the healing. The Harmonic CD is facilitating your inner consciousness with tonal information that is a key to the real you, but you will do with it what you will. Be prepared for change, however. A Solution to PAIN One of the only ways to really go past pain in our lives, is to accept it, but go a step further, and seek to be of service to life in some way. Service, with either coin of effort, is the easier path to follow in your spiritual growth. Service is Love in Action, and this is like a sword of light through our personal pain... In the end, your pain is yours... But you can go through it, resolve it, and discover a greater sense of who you are as a result. It really doesn't matter if you inherited the pain, earned it, or just picked it up along the way. What matters is how we survive and grow. The pattern of chronic Pain is almost always the same. There is something we cannot accept within us, so we do not allow the free flow of energy, and we suffer pain as a result. Open up the Heart, and Acceptance comes more easily, and then th ball starts rolling into more positive territory. WHAT TO DO?
