The Oracle
The 3-7-8 Trine: What's it to Be? God or Mammon?
This aspect is saying that you have to be careful with your choices at this point in time.
What are you wishing for in your heart of hearts? More to the point, will the desire for this become the basis on how you will conduct your life?
We all have a need for love, wealth, and happiness, but you must decide: What is wealth and love and happiness to you?
The 3-7-8 Trine:
What's it to Be? God or Mammon?
This aspect is saying that you have to be careful with your choices at this point in time. What are you wishing for in your heart of hearts? More to the point, will the desire for this become the basis on how you will conduct your life?
We all have a need for love, wealth, and happiness, but you must decide: What is wealth and love and happiness to you?
The wealth you seek may be a deeper understanding of yourself and the inner workings of life, but generally most people do not run this deep, and your choices will be more towards the right partner, the right house, etc. Whether you aim for high or low aspirations, deeper or shallower relationships, a bigger or smaller house, you will generally succeed in your goals.
What this means is that you need to be selective about your goals, dreams and wishes.
You need to choose between God and Mammon, as they say in the Bible. Who is going to be your God, what wish fulfilment will you serve? Really, this is more a matter of priorities, because those who choose the higher path of consideration and respect for what is the divine within themselves have an uncanny knack of becoming quite wealthy as well.
Those with this aspect who are greedy and selfish have a tendency to turn out miserable and unhappy in old age. Even then, you choose to serve your higher nature, you will be given a second chance.
Contrary to popular belief, having money does not preclude spiritual attainment, nor does it require that you sell your Soul. However, the LOVE of money can mean that you forget your common humanity, and choose to use those around you for your own ends.
You will find here that any prestige, wealth or money earned at the expense of another cannot be used for a constructive purpose. It is weird, but somehow life will just not agree with you, and it will be nigh impossible for you to get a natural flow happening. This often results in suicide in old age, either overt, or covert through drugs or some other sort of abuse.
Certainly, a man may be judged by his associates, so look around you. Are these the people that you really want to be connected with? Where else might you place yourself in this life?
Vanity is the frailty of this combination, but it is a subtle vanity based on progress and attainment. That is to say, because you make money and do well, you feel you are better than those not as financially able as yourself.
This is difficult because success can prevent the individual from viewing any problems in what they see as a "Winning Combination". (IE: Themselves!) Because you are successful you will use this reality as a sort of OK from God that what you are doing is fine. It may well be, but self justification can confirm any action, and if so, the result is that you may be careless of how you affect others.
Be warned … Life will exact a balance in due course! You must learn to listen and look for the little signs about you that will indicate a need to change course.
If money and prestige is not the focus, it is likely that something else will become an obsession, for this is a rather obsessive Trine.
The lesson here, therefore, is to be more open minded and willing to listen to the whisper of your intuition. It is rare, but when someone with this aspect becomes dedicated to a Spiritual Purpose, they can make tremendous gains in understanding themselves, and the nature of Life.
Difficulties will come, to be sure, but in this case each will be a stone in a set of stairs that lifts you to the highest of heavens. If you reach this understanding, you will know that Life is a Gift, and that by passing on the gift of life through deeps of charitable kindness, we are made more complete as human beings.
Most will select the low road, and the pursuit of Mammon. This means their life will be one of Karma. You can choose differently at any time, however, and this will alter the entire framework of your thinking. Ideally, you will spend time in service to a higher cause to get past the need for recognition, money and prestige.
Going to church on Sundays is NOT a choice for God. This is usually just an excuse for yourself to feel better and help you look good socially.
Your Motto is: I give back to life what I can in this moment. As I have received so I give. You, in turn, will give to others what you will. What do you will?
