The Eight must be approached on two levels, that of the double Four and the full Eight. In practical matters Eight represents overall stability, as thus is closely affiliated with money and finance. In spiritual matters, the Eight can hold a breadth of vision and compassion.

If the two can be combined (Such as in the case of Nelson Mandela, born July 18, 1918 = 35 into Eight) great upliftment for all around them will occur. When non-judgemental and bi-partisan, the Eight can transform, inform and educate all around them.

Many Eight’s feel a spiritual calling, and those that do find that money and other people opinions are not important to them. Self-sufficiency and having enough for the day is all that matters. They make fine philosophers and also great adventurers, like the type that go to the Amazonian jungles to find a new breed of butterfly.

The Eight is any form is not a light personality, and tends to be rather severe on first impressions, but this is only their considered and serious nature. They tend to have little interest in what other might think, and are happy as long as they are left in peace to contemplate.

This is especially true of the Eight children, who will sit for hours, and then come out with what seems a very obtuse question, like, "Why is Santa Clause being pulled along by reindeer in his sled? Would it not be much easier to load it all into a big plane?" The pattern of the Eight is to ask a question with an answer already in it. This is because they have already decided inside, and are simply checking if you agree.

If you laugh at an Eight child they will be very hurt. They are unforgiving with any perceived weakness and/or stupidity, and if you are unfair, you will lose all respect. An older Eight child will simply discount you, possibly for life, if you do not measure up to their expectations.

They need strong, yet gentle, guidance throughout their young life, and will be utterly faithful to those they care for, and those who care for them. Don't get on their wrong side, however, for they have elephantine memories and will bring up words you have said three years earlier if it will prove their point.

The Eight wife and mother is assiduous in their efforts to keep the children and house in complete order. And what is more they will do it while holding down a career! Capability reels off them as the orders fly, and the children will rarely argue. They don't want the clear and concise pulling apart and dressing down that their mother will give them if they are not well prepared with answers and reasons for their actions.

Let her have the bank account, for it will stretch forever in her hands.

With the right husband, usually a Five, Four or Six and occasionally a Two or One, she will ensure that his prospects are looked after, and that promotions come. She will invite the bosses wife to bowls, and while ensuring that the lady wins, also make sure she recognises the advantages of having her husband on the company team.

The Eight wife and mother is quite ruthless about looking after their own.

On the Negative side they will become preoccupied with finance and getting the better home, to the point that they will become nags and fishwives. They will ride the children, causing resentment, and create disharmony in the home.

The Eight male is usually very affable and makes an excellent employee. They are reliable and conscientious, taking pains to not waste company monies. They are also painfully honest as a rule, and tend to avoid gossip and the common type. They far prefer drinking wine with the boss than beer with the boys.

As a result, they are seen as good executive material, and are! An innate understanding of diplomacy combined with a forthright manner allows the Eight to open door after door for themselves, but if at any point they question their seemingly good fortune, or become introverted in their dealings with others, everything will be thrown into reverse.

The chaos that ensues when the Eight vibration turns sour is very painful, especially as the native of the vibration often refuses to see it, and insulates themselves in the Ego sphere.

They would prefer the bank to repossess rather than to sell cheaply and escape with minimal losses.

The spiritual aspect of the Eight is important, for it carries the tone of resolution within the emotional sphere. Misspent and misunderstood emotion is the area that cause us the most pain, as a rule. The core issue here is essentially that we fear a loss, and insulate ourselves emotionally from this.

The Eight energy breaks up the fear of loss, and innately understands the Law of Plenty. This key to the Eight vibration can provide a lever by which we can all solve many of life’s concerns.

The Law of Plenty states that that there is enough for each individual if they allow balance in their lives. The Eight vibration teaches balance, rather than compromise, and inner strength, rather than outer will, as the solutions to lack. These simple notions really work.

When we abide these rules, we find that there is indeed enough for our families, and this holds as true in Ethiopia as it does in America.

The Eight is the double Four, which is the symbolic representative of the Merchants Principle of Added Value. Added Value is simply that if you have a tomato, and you want ten, you take the seeds from the one you have, and plant them. Pretty soon you will have lots of tomatoes. The essence is in allowing time for things to grow, and so we come to the Eight's greatest failing, a tendency to rush.

The psychology here is of the fear of failure, which lies buried in the combination of a lack of commitment and the lack of self esteem. If we look at anyone's life we will find that the source cause of most of their concerns come down to this fear of failure. It is accented with the Eight.

Lack of commitment and low self-esteem are the bogey men of the Eight vibration, and the interesting thing here is that the nature of the Eight is that of the Octave note, or keynote. Eight is the repeating energy of the first note in the scale, only higher. But if you fall into depression, you cycle down to a lower note, and have to start climbing all over again.

In music you can play a song in any key, and someone can play the tonic note to the song over and over, and it will fit in. This is the secret of the Eight. As the native more fully steps into this vibration they will begin to fully relax and be themselves, thus preparing the inner person for the vibration of the Nine that follows.

Eight is a most curious number. In China it is seen as a Lucky Number, yet in Cherio’s Book of Numbers it is viewed as unfortunate. The key to understanding the bridge between the two is to see the different mind sets between East and West.

The Chinese are incredibly hard working and prepared to sacrifice in order to obtain a long term goal. This suits the energy of the Eight. The seeking of short term gratification, quick results, easy money, all opposes the Eight vibration.

Eight is associated with Saturn Rising in Astrology. Traditionally a difficult period, but if a person is well prepared for emergencies, and hard working, it is a very healthy and beneficial aspect.

The greatest lesson the Eight will learn is the truth that there are no shortcuts. Only by fully grasping the inner workings of things can we learn to make the external things move more quickly, and the natural energy of the Eight is to look to understand the minutiae in the knowledge that these will become the building blocks to a greater future.

Eights are builders. The stones we use to build bridges are the same stones we use to build walls. When this vibration is strong in a person’s life, they feel the need to ascertain with every situation in their life whether to build a bridge or a wall. The real secret is letting it all go.

Forget we are the centre of the universe, and just strive to be part of the great flow of events. In so doing we allow life to construct things as they are meant to be,
